Dr Gill successfully completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Melbourne University in 1991. David worked as a general practitioner for several years but found his real interest lay in treating skin disease and skin surgery.

He was fortunate enough to gain a training position in the highly sought after dermatology training program in Victoria in 1998 and completed a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology from Monash University that same year. Dr Gill then completed his training and attained his Fellowship from the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2001.

After completing general dermatology training and working as a specialist dermatologist for several years, he decided to pursue further training in skin cancer surgery. In 2007, David completed his training in Mohs surgery and subsequently travelled to the United States in 2010 to sit further examinations in Mohs micrographic surgery. He was awarded a Fellowship of the American Society of Moh’s Surgery and is recognised as a Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgeon and an accredited trainer by the Australasian College of Dermatologists.

He is regularly involved in providing annual general practitioner workshops including presentations at the Australasian College of Dermatologists General Practitioner Skin Cancer workshop. David has also had involvement as an external examiner for the dermatology exams in Sri Lanka.
